As I turned off my car in the parking lot, all I could think about was how much I wish I could just go home. I was becoming detached from my job, and even more detached from my family as I let the energy drain from me every day.
I got out of my car, slammed the door and adjusted my name badge. As I turned away from my car, I tripped on the gravel and threw my phone about 5 feet away in a little flower garden. Before me was a beautiful flower, rising strong and vibrant in the hot afternoon sun. Its beauty struck me, and I smiled. Even on those days when our hearts and souls are buried deep in turmoil, there is beauty and hope to be found. We just have to stop and look. Be present. Be still.
Find the beauty and joy all around you, and take it all in.
